The destination for those wishing to enjoy the racing and then keep the party going once racing has finished. Ticket includes:
We’re delighted to welcome Olympic Gold medalist Nick Skelton, retired British Show Jumper and father to racing’s Dan and Harry Skelton, to present a trophy to one of the champions of the 2016/2017 Jump Season. Four of the GB Olympic gold medal winning hockey girls, Shona McCallin, Nicola White, Giselle Ansley and Hollie Webb will also be presenting on the day. Joining the lineup of sporting stars is former England footballer, Wayne Bridge, who will also be lending a hand to present a trophy.
Before racing, the equine champions of the past and present will be taking centre stage in the parade ring, for racegoers to get the opportunity to see them and show their appreciation for their feats on the racetrack. Cue Card, Sprinter Sacre and Willoughby Court are all confirmed for the parade, with others being confirmed over the coming days.
Unlike last year’s battle between Nicholls and Mullins for Champion Trainer title that went right to the final day of the season, this year sees Nicky Henderson poised to take the title after returning from the Grand National meeting at Aintree with a lead of £320,336 over Paul Nicholls. Nicky Henderson has been Champion Trainer three times, most recently in the 2012/13 season, breaking up what would have been a run of 11 titles for Paul Nicholls.
Richard Johnson is over 40 wins and almost £1million ahead of his nearest rival, Brian Hughes, in the Champion Jockey title. He was crowned Champion for the first time last year by his predecessor AP McCoy following a monopoly lasting two decades. Harry Cobden looks set to take the Conditional Jockey’s title, with owner J P McManus close to £2m ahead of his nearest rival in the Champion Owner league table.
On a day where we crown the season’s champions, we will also be displaying some of the trophies from the most prized Jump races in Britain. Don’t miss the display of trophies from The Jockey Club Chase Triple Crown races: Betfair Chase (Haydock Park), 32Red King George VI Chase (Kempton Park) and Timico Gold Cup (Cheltenham). The Champion Owner, Trainer, Jockey and Conditional Jockey trophies will also be on display prior to the presentations.
