This year our official charity partner is Walking With The Wounded. Established in 2010, they support a pathway for vulnerable veterans to re-integrate back into society and sustain their independence. The charity focuses on employability, mental health and early intervention services to provide social inclusion, independence and to help break the cycle of veterans being a disproportionately high cohort within homeless, police custody, unemployment and mental health statistics. The outcome the charity seeks to achieve for the veterans they support is sustainable employment, and independence for them and their families. The equivalent of £1 from each ticket will be donated to WWTW by Sandown Park.
The Brasserie will be closed on this day but there are plenty of other food outlets around the racecourse. The Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar serves seafood platters, moules mariniere and tasty bloomer sandwiches. Freshly cooked venison and rib eye steak baguettes are on offer from The Atalanta amongst various other options. Alternatively, located in the Grandstand Enclosure, The Market Place offers tastings from around the world. Further options include Costa coffee and numerous bars.
